Thimphu Drubchen festival Tour

Thimphu Drubchen popularly known as Thimphu Dromchoey is performed at the Tashichhodzong. It was first introduced in 1710 by Kuenga Gyeltshe. The festival is celebrated 3days prior to the Thimphu Tsechu. The festival showcases mainly the dances that are devoted to Pelden Lhamo, the protecting deity of Bhutan. It is considered more sacred and was not open for tourists until recently. Even the dance performance which wer perform in the festival has a special value as the deity Palden Lama performs the dance before Kuenga Gyeltshen when he was meditating.

The festival is celebrated on 15th of September and ends on 18th of September.
